COPV Design, Development, Qualification, & Production.

One team for the full vessel lifecycle.

Design Custom Type 3, 4, and 5 vessels, optimized for weight and cost.
Analysis High Fidelity FEA — high design confidence, qualification by analysis to reduce physical test scope (as permitted by design standards).
Testing Hydraulic proof & burst to 50,000 psig. Life cycle, thermal & cryogenic testing, damage control and damage tolerance testing.
Test Instrumentation Multi-channel strain gauging, Modal Acoustic Emission (MAE) monitoring, volume, diameter, and length expansion measurements.
Manufacturing 4-axis CNC filament winding, wet or prepreg, up to 50″ OD × 150″ long. Dedicated production facility for mid-high volume production.
Qualification AIAA S-081B/G-082, ISO, US DOT-CFFC, ECE, ANSI NGV2/HGV2. We design and build to the standards required for each use-case.
Full Lifecycle support In-service inspection support, modal acoustic emission NDE, and anomaly dispositioning.
Production capacity

Our dedicated production facility delivers volume manufacturing without a supplier transition. Once your program moves past development and qualification, we scale with you — with predictable delivery schedules and per-vessel unit cost that improves as volume grows.

Build-to-print manufacturing

We manufacture COPVs and filament-wound structures to your drawing package. Whether you need a qualified second source, overflow capacity, or a domestic supplier for a design developed in-house, we build to your spec and existing qual data.

Applications & Use-Cases.

We build for ultra-high pressures, exceptional cycle life, and extreme operating environments.

Material evaluation and characterization testing.

Our vessels are unique high-fidelity test vehicles for fiber-resin system evaluation. Material suppliers regularly engage HyPerComp to validate new and innovative material systems.

HyPerComp hydraulic proof and burst testing of filament-wound composite pressure vessels — qualification testing to 50,000 psig
A-basis & environmental testing A-basis allowables testing to statistically characterize material system performance.
Material supplier partnerships We test fiber and resin systems for material suppliers — providing COPV-level validation data that coupon testing alone cannot deliver.

World leaders in lightweight pressure vessel design since 1996.

Founded in 1996, HyPerComp has dedicated thirty years to advancing the science and engineering of composite pressure vessels — expanding the industry's knowledge base through rigorous testing, material research, and continuous design innovation. We are constantly pushing the boundaries of weight, cost, and performance.

Our proprietary Type IV design is now in its third generation and has been qualified across more than 15 aerospace and commercial applications. HyPerComp delivered the first-ever Type IV vessels to fly in manned spaceflight.

We support our customers through range safety submittals, and help prepare for flight readiness and launch.
